The Provincial program is designed for gymnasts with above average strength, flexibility and independence who want to compete in competitions at the Provincial level. This program requires substantial commitment and dedication from the gymnast and their parents.
Advanced Training is offered at the Provincial level to interested and committed gymnasts after an audition process. Placement in Advanced Training Programs is at the discretion of the coaches.
Our Pre-Competitive Rising Stars program is for young, talented gymnasts between the ages of 4-8 who are ready to practice rhythmic gymnastics twice a week, and who are interested in becoming competitors in the future. Our Rising Stars participate in a specialized program which includes flexibility and dance, as well as building the gymnastics skills and apparatus handling needed to move into competitive rhythmic gymnastics.
Auditions are held yearly after the KRSG Open House in June, or on request in some situations. Interested families are asked to contact our Head Coach Dasa Lelli.
Provincial athletes usually train a minimum of 12 hours weekly. Additional hours may be required for more advanced gymnasts, and for participation in rhythmic gymnastics (RG) groups and aesthetic groups (AGG).
Groups often require a contract of commitment to attendance to be signed by gymnasts and their parents, as training of these groups is compromised if attendance is erratic.
Provincial guidelines are described on the Gymnastics Ontario website.
Provincial gymnasts compete in Qualifying Meets to attempt to qualify for the Ontario Championships each year, and compete in Invitational Meets at the discretion of the Head Coach.
Our advanced training gymnasts, both Provincial and InterClub, may also have opportunities to perform at the Canadian and World Gymnaestradas.
Volunteer involvement on the part of Advanced Training families is expected, which helps to keep our fees low.
Within the KRSG's Provincial program there are 3 streams for gymnasts: Individual, Group, Aesthetic Group.
